Mission: Dionne Roberts is an online food reporter for Rocky Mountain Food Report (www.rockymountainfoodreport.com) that had an editorial in the print edition of the magazine Colorado Collective (www.colorado-collective.com). She needed some iconic imagery to set her apart in the issue, which was extremely beverage industry focused (places, buildings, drinks, men (haha), etc.). I wanted to capture a image that would truly stick out in the magazine and be a show stopper in a magazine that was a heavily male-driven issue.
Process: I picked a location, props like a whisky glass, and arranged for a shoot. It was an extremely windy day, but I decided to incorporate that into the shoot, giving her a Wild West, windblown feel. I took some photos with the Rocky Mountains in the background (she works for Rocky Mountain Food Report). After editing, I managed to capture a few images I thought truly stuck out, and they were printed in the magazine.
Outcome: People loved these images, and it was a story that stood out because of the photos.
